The Palestinian Association for Care and Development, in cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), organized a specialized training course on Autism Spectrum Disorder and Inclusive Rehabilitation Practices. The training was facilitated by trainer Maram Fouad and attended by representatives from rehabilitation centres in Al-Amari, Qalandiya, Al-Jalazone, and Deir Ammar camps.
The course explored autism spectrum disorder and inclusive rehabilitation practices from rights-based, cultural, and practical perspectives. It aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and develop their professional skills in rehabilitation, contributing to improved service delivery and a more comprehensive response to the needs of persons with disabilities.
The training also emphasized the importance of adopting a rights-based approach to rehabilitation, respecting diversity and individual needs, and promoting the meaningful participation and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
This initiative forms part of ongoing collaborative efforts to strengthen the capacities of rehabilitation centre staff, enhance professional practices, and promote a more inclusive and equitable environment for persons with disabilities and their families.
