As part of its commitment to supporting and empowering families of persons with disabilities and promoting their psychological and social well-being, the Palestinian Association for Care and Development organized a psychological support and emotional relief workshop for mothers of persons with disabilities, in cooperation with Ms. Alaa Hreish, a psychological specialist from the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture.
The workshop focused on the importance of mental health for mothers and its role in helping them cope with the daily challenges and responsibilities associated with caring for their children. A variety of interactive activities and psychological exercises were conducted, providing participants with a safe space to express their feelings and share experiences.
During the session, Ms. Alaa Hreish emphasized the importance of psychological and social support in strengthening resilience and improving the quality of life for mothers and their families. She highlighted the need to address the mental health needs of caregivers alongside the care provided to persons with disabilities.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that it provided a valuable opportunity to relieve stress, share experiences, and receive emotional support. They also stressed the importance of continuing such supportive activities for families of persons with disabilities
